‘Intuition and intelligence are allied in Coker’s understanding of how the elements of landscape fit together, and this sense of the structure of landscape is apparent in an exhilarating series of drawings. Subtleties of tone infuse an equally remarkable series of etchings, in a variety of difficult techniques, often combined on a single plate. The fine, almost wispy lines of Starbotton, Rain etching and aquatint…..which display all the possible variety of the graphic medium.
